“Zebuel” is a Southern born, West Coast-based producer, guitarist and party rocking DJ known for his eclectic selections. His music is a hybrid of funk, soul, reggae, and bass-heavy beats: Dub/Funk/Crunk. The sound is Memphis meets California, a sort of space-age island soaked bass blues, like if B.B. King and Three Six Mafia flew to Jamaica to record a movie soundtrack in 1975. Or if the Mothership came to Muscle Shoals to test out some sub woofers. He has collaborated with artists such as CharlesTheFirst and Poldoore and his tracks have been remixed by the likes of SubDocta, Deejay Theory, Roommate, B. Bravo and Balkan Bump. Zeb and crew started a thriving weekly event in San Francisco know as Smoked Out Soul which unites DJs and producers with some of the best musicians in the Bay Area. Together with trumpet player Will Magid (Balkan Bump), Saxophonist Teddy Raven and drummers Paul Oliphant, Brandon Lee and Enrique Padilla he has created a bass-heavy future funk and soul party that that can be heard on the Void Sound System at Monarch SF and at venues up and down the West Coast. After gaining popularity as a party, Smoked Out Soul hit the road with a top shelf live act which is honored to have played festivals such as Bonnaroo, Symbiosis, Lightning in a Bottle, Joshua Tree Music Festival and clubs such as The Great American Music Hall, The Independent, The Chapel, Great Northern and Rickshaw Stop.
