Born in Upstate NY, raised in Tokyo, Japan and Akron, OH, by a Canadian Mother and American Father, singer/songwriter Tim Easton was influenced by a combination of pop icons and bluegrass/folk legends from his brother’s and sister’s vinyl collections. After studying poetry at university, Easton found himself busking the streets of Paris, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Prague, on and off for seven years, living at Shakespeare & Company Bookshop for one stretch in Paris. After making his first recordings in Prague, Easton returned to the USA to record his first solo album, Special 20, with friends and session musicians in Nashville. He signed with EMI Publishing in 1999, relocated to Los Angeles, performed at songwriter hubs like Largo, recorded his second album with members of Wilco, and signed a recording contract with New West Records. Several albums and world tours with mentors Lucinda Williams and John Hiatt followed. He lived and worked out of Joshua Tree, California for seven years, recording and releasing music the whole time. TimEaston.com has a full discography. Recently, Easton has moved farther into the written word category of output including essays, stories, and poetry. He has a Patreon page where a new song is delivered every month, plus a SUBSTACK page. His most recent album, FIND YOUR WAY, was recorded in Canada. His fifteenth album, due in February of 2026, will be called “fIREHORSE.” In between tours, Easton lives in Nashville, TN. He has one daughter (and she is rad!).
