High Desert Death Collective: Ritual of Remembrance
Sunday 2:15pm-3:30pm, Sanctuary

Anastasia Baratta, Lauren Stambaugh, Amber Deylon, Jenn Parma and others comprise the Joshua Tree Music Festival’s High Desert Death Collective. HDDC is a group of trained and untrained workers and volunteers that create education, support and inspiration for those that have gone through a recent death, are caring for someone that is dying or are in the end stages of life themselves. The collective views ceremony and ritual as forms of respect, remembrance and self care.

The Collective guides attendees through the creation and opening of a sacred altar, offering a moment to honor those lost from the festival community and to integrate their own experiences of death and loss. This poignant ritual provides a space for reflection and connection, enriching the festival’s communal spirit.
