Emily Higgins, Phoenix based artist originally from Ohio. I am so happy you’re here! I have been painting for a handful of years and this past year I have moved away from abstracted art and emerged into more of a realism as you see here with these ‘eerie’ paintings. I call this series my “liminal space” series that I was moved to paint these in order to push my own limits and test my skill set (and sanity). It is intended on my part to make you feel sort of uncomfortable by these ‘abandoned’ empty spaces. Thank you for taking time to view and read about my work. Painting is something I strive to do everyday to stay creative and in touch with my community and myself. Being able to share and connect with people in this form is something I am passionate and grateful for. I hope that something in the gallery moves you, even if it isn’t mine. ❤️
