Fifteen year old West left home with guitar in hand to travel across America in a converted school bus with radical curiosity. Experimenting with irrepressible empathy, deep emotion resonates in her creations. She’s released five independent albums, toured extensively for 20+ years through North America, Europe, and India. Her ‘stop you in your tracks’ voice has inspired high grade artists like Jerry Douglas, Darol Anger, Kelly Joe Phelps & Mike Marshall to collaborate. Corinne is also a wildly compelling multi-media visual artist. Through color, form, and texture, she captures ephemeral moments and fixes them in time, juxtaposing mystery with the temporal. Her “TRANSFORMATIONS IN SONG” project was recently funded by the Upstate California Creative Corp. For this project, Corinne focused on the mystifying power music has to bring awareness to our environmental predicament as well as the ability to heal mental and emotional trauma. The state of CA funded her to compose and produce a 5 song project, culminating in five free, community based concerts. Negotiating the shadows through creative expression, Corinne graced the stage here at JTMF way back in 2004 and 2005. And again in 2022, 2023 & May 2024, and she migrated to Joshua Tree this winter for an Artist Residency at the Joshua Tree Music Festival venue. Her Friday morning set at the cafe stage in October is a ‘not-to-be-missed’ performance.
