Camping with us on site? Read on!

We are blessed to call beautiful Joshua Tree Lake Campground and RV our festival home. We ask you respect this space and the surrounding flora and fauna, be kind and courteous to your neighbors, and leave your space better than you found it.

All festival tickets include walk-in tent camping (park in day parking and walk your gear into the campground. Single day tickets include camping for that night. If you wish to have your vehicle in the campground you need to purchase the appropriate vehicle pass.

WHAT’S THE WEATHER LIKE?

BE PREPARED: Temperatures can be erratic to say the least. In May, the average high is 93, low is 71. In October it’s 84 and 56 respectively. Come prepared for anything. Bring shade for camp, hats, umbrellas, water, and sunscreen. Wind does blow through so remember to adequately stake things down; rebar and sandbags work great. EZ-Ups fly away easily – If you MUST bring an EZ Up, please make sure it is staked securely with rebar or similar, if it is not secured properly we may ask you to take it down.

PLEASE RESPECT THE WILDLIFE: Swimming in the lake is for the ducks and fishies only. No humans, no trash – you wouldn’t want trash floating in your home! If you see a snake, leave it alone. If you think it may cause an issue, please report it to the Rangers. Lizards, birds and critters – this is their home first, leave them be.

AMPLIFIED MUSIC: You can play music at your camp, (no sound systems or live amplified music) please be considerate of all your neighbors. If noise from your campsite is bothering your neighbors, you’ll be asked to turn it down. If your neighbors are bugging, find one of the friendly Rangers and let them know, or report to the helpers at the Greeter Hut. If multiple complaints are received about your party, JTMF reserves the right to confiscate equipment and/or ask campers to leave.

GENERATORS: Use of whisper quiet generators is permitted between 8am & 10pm. Please be conscious of placement and hours of use and consider your neighbors/friends. We may ask you to turn your generator off or limit use if it is being disruptive to others.

EZ UPS/SHADE STRUCTURES: We regularly experience winds in the desert that EZ Ups are not built to withstand, they can break and turn into hazards. Please ensure any shade structures are secured properly with rebar or similar. We may ask you to drop shade structures/EZ ups if not secured properly or during high winds

CAMPGROUND FAQS

WHEN CAN I SET UP? You can enter the campground and set up any time during regular Box Office hours.

WHEN DO I NEED TO LEAVE? You must be completely packed up and cleared out of the campground by 11am on Monday. If you plan to stay after this time you must check in and pay for an extra night at the Campground Office (the ‘Boathouse’ by the lake) by 11pm.

HOW MUCH SPACE WILL I HAVE? Camping at the festival is on a first come, first served basis (communal festival camping). There are no reservations for physical camping sites (except for RV power sites with hook ups). You’re guaranteed at least 12’x12’ of space for tent camping. The campground will fill up, so cozy up to your neighbors. If you’ve spread out an area larger than 12×12, you might be asked to share space as more campers arrive. If you want to camp with friends, we encourage you to arrive together, as roping off areas and saving large spaces for latecomers is unfair to other festival-goers. If you’re saving a small spot for a friend or two, kindly confer with your neighbors.

WHERE DO I PARK? We have a day parking lot for general parking. You will need to purchase a Day Parking Pass for your vehicle. From there, it is a short walk to the campground.

CAN I HAVE MY VEHICLE IN THE CAMPGROUND? If you’d like to have your vehicle at your camp spot, you’ll need to purchase the appropriate Vehicle Campground Pass depending on the size of your vehicle. We recommend purchasing these ahead of time as they do sell out. Alternately, you can park in day parking and walk up into the campground with your gear. You can purchase all of these vehicle passes on our tickets page.

CAN I DRIVE INTO THE CAMPGROUND AND DROP OFF MY GEAR? Sorry, we do not allow you to drive in and drop off gear. The campground is a very short walk from Day Parking. Please plan with this in mind or make some new friends to help you load in!

DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN TENT? You sure do! Please bring your own structure to camp in. Space is limited so please be mindful of your footprint. If you’re travelling a distance and don’t want to haul your gear, our friends Joshua Tree Outfitters have camping set ups to rent locally.

IS THERE A RV CAMPING AREA? Yes, any RVs without a reserved site will be directed to our dry RV camping area. It is first come first served, you will be placed as you arrive.

IS THERE A FAMILY CAMPING AREA? Yes, for families with children, located in the NW side of the campground. This is a quiet zone after dark, and kids like to make noise in the morning. So if that doesn’t sound like your style, there are acres of other camping space where you can find your tribe.

DO YOU HAVE ACCESSIBLE CAMPING?

Yes. Please contact us in advance to arrange accessible camping.
