With roots in California and Virginia, Angelica’s (she/they) sound formed as an amalgamation of a bicoastal Southern experience. Noise Pop, textured Latino polyrhythms and inspired ambient electronica. Angelica has been featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk, NYTimes year-end lists, and on Barack Obama’s annual ‘best of’ list. The latest iteration of Garcia’s work brings her to Brooklyn. Her single ‘Y Grito’ was released in conjunction with a feature in APPLEs annual keynote, and in APPLE TV’s launch of their MLS campaign The future of her storytelling lies in harnessing the power of tradition and alchemizing it into the present. Her 2020 album, Cha Cha Palace, is a force – super solid sonics through and through – an exploration of her Latinx roots. Angelica is one of three artists brought to us by KEYCHANGE U.S. Their mission is to support and promote women and gender expansive artists in the music industry.
