3Boobs is an artist alias created by Elizabeth Cook in 2013. She has been creating and showing art in San Diego ever since. This new body of work by 3Boobs is an expansion of previous stand alone works into a narrative comic series. Each piece strings together to create a narrative, but they are not created nor presented in a linear fashion. The story follows a wide array of characters as they navigate a post apocalyptic and politically violent landscape. The themes are dark and reflective of current events, but the imagery and colors are inspired by children’s book illustrations from her childhood. The combination of these elements is an intentional celebration of holding onto your imagination and innocence in the face and of a cruel world. The use of anthropomorphic creatures represents her admiration for the ways that animals create symbiotic relationships to survive, and a hope for humans to do more of that as our changing planet demands it.
