Lil’ Chris is a product of the influential 80s. The exposure to B-boys, street battles, freestyle, and hip-hop culture cultivated the dancer within and the daily obsession to record live radio DJ sets on cassette tapes. Borrowing two turntables, a mixer, and two crates of vinyl, helped to hone her mixing skills. The rising popularity of the underground electronic music scene greatly influenced the path that two best friends would take. A collaborative female DJ duo, known as Joint Sessions, was born.
In the early 2000s, “Chris & Chris” played alongside iconic names such as Donald Glaude, Joey Mazzola, Ellen Ferrato, Dave Coleman n’ Sensei, and Miguel Migs as well as guest spots on the LIVE 105 Subsonic show. They maintained frequent rotations at some of SFs most notable clubs/bars – 1015 Folsom, Kelly’s Mission Rock, The End Up, and Mighty – as well as invitations to fundraisers such as SFs Black & White Ball and Beats for Boobs.
In the year 2010, lil’ chris co-founded a local DJ collective, STiRTy, known for creating a dynamic atmosphere on the dancefloor, with a genre focus on house, progressive, breaks, and techno blends. STiRTy collaborated with a dedicated community of friends and hosted an annual summer campout which has been going strong for 15+ years, known as BoomBoomWoods (BBW) and over the years, made guest appearances at several Strategik and FnF summertime campouts.
Lil’ chris exemplifies a unique style in her passion for connection with a diverse audience. It’s the wicked groove and punchy bass lines that makes her infectious and unstoppable.
