Kara Hoppe (She/Her), MFT, is a psychotherapist, death doula, teacher, author, existentialist, and mama.
She has spent over 15 years as a relational therapist working with individuals, couples, and
groups toward healing and growth, and guiding clients to become grounded, integrated people
with better access to their own instincts, wisdom, and creativity. She has trained with Stephen
Jenkinson (author of Die Wise) and Molyn Leszcz (coauthor of Group Therapy) as well as
completed Alua Arthur’s Going with Grace Death Doula training program and runs groups for
those living the dying part of life and leads a monthly Grief Circle in Joshua Tree. Hoppe is the
coauthor of Baby Bomb: A Relationship Survival Guide for New Parents, a 2021 INDIES finalist.
Her work has been featured in The Atlantic, Parents Magazine, Psychology Today, and Fatherly,
among other publications. She lives with her husband and two children in Pioneertown, CA, and
sees clients in private practice via Telehealth.
